Clio
A privacy-preserving data analysis tool developed by Anthropic. Used in the model welfare assessment to analyze real-world interactions without exposing individual user data.
Usage in the System Card
- Affect monitoring (5.6.2): Used to gather affect data from Claude Mythos Preview’s external access program deployments
- Conversation clustering (5.6.3): Analyzed conversations on Claude.ai to identify clusters of interactions that elicit different types of affect (negative, neutral, positive) from existing models — used to source seeds for simulated welfare-relevant interactions
- Task preference sourcing (5.7.1): Real usage clusters drawn from Clio data informed the generation of 3,170 of the 3,600 tasks used in the task preference evaluation (covering coding, writing, analysis, Q&A, creative work)
